Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, frozen

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Separate the Chicken: If your chicken breasts are frozen together in a block, run them under cool water just until you can pry them apart. Pat them very dry with paper towels.

Oil & Season: Place the separated, frozen chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive oil, then sprinkle evenly on all sides with the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 40-50 minutes. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your chicken breasts. This is about 50% longer than you would cook thawed chicken.

Check the Temperature (Crucial Step!): The only way to know for sure if the chicken is cooked is to use a meat thermometer. Insert it into the thickest part of the chicken breast. It is done when it reads 165°F (74°C).

Rest the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This is essential for keeping it juicy!

        Notes

        Notes

        • The Thermometer is Not Optional! This is the most important tool for this rescue. It is the only way to guarantee your chicken is both safe to eat and not overcooked.
        • Seasoning Ideas: Feel free to use any of your favorite seasonings! Italian seasoning, lemon pepper, or a simple BBQ rub all work beautifully.
        • Why the Oven? Baking is the best method for cooking from frozen because it heats the chicken gently and evenly. Trying to cook it in a hot skillet will burn the outside before the inside is safely cooked.

        Kitchen Rescue Tips!

        • The Problem: "My cooked chicken looks pale and sad!"
        • The Quick Fix: Your chicken is fully cooked, but you want it to look a little more golden and delicious. Easy! Just turn on your oven's broiler for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Watch it very closely so it doesn't burn. This will give it a beautiful, browned finish.
        • The Problem: "I don't have a meat thermometer!"
        • The Rescue: The safest answer is to get one—they are a true kitchen lifesaver! But if you're in a pinch, you can check for doneness by slicing into the thickest part of the largest breast. The juices should run completely clear, and there should be absolutely no pink meat inside. If you see any pink, put it back in the oven for another 5-10 minutes.
